Jon Webb - New Forest Artist

I was born in the area on the south coast of England called the New Forest, the village of Sway to be precise. I'm a self taught painter trying to make my work realistic but with a loose feel to it...
I paint in oils, both forest and marine subjects, and have exhibited at, amongst other places, the Earls Court boat show and The Regent Centre, Christchurch. I have another exhibition at the Regent Centre, scheduled for Summer 2012.

As an antidote to the sedate world of oil painting my other passion is playing guitar and mandolin in punk rock bands, currently the Peeping Toms and The Cropdusters. My latest project is a 'garage rock' band called Drew Flanagan and the Black Bombers...

The area around the New Forest and Solent is being developed at an ever increasing rate so I feel a need to record scenes that at the moment many of us I think take for granted. For a painter this part of the world is heaven and everywhere you look another picture presents itself.

I hope the paintings on these pages and my Portfolio catch your eye and if you would like to buy any of my work go to the Contact page and give me a call or an email. There is also a list of places in Galleries where my cards, calendars and paintings are on view and for sale...

I also take commisions and I'm happy to paint from your own photos or recreate similar paintings to any shown on these pages.
